Working structure
of INTERPLAY
Base groups:
young playwrights are allocated to groups of 8 who work with 3 tutors.
Over a two hour session every morning each writer’s play is discussed
and general feedback is given by the group.
One to one discussions:
each writer has a tutor delegate assigned to their play, but they
are free to discuss with any other tutors. One-to-ones allow a playwrights
to get detailed individual feedback and gain a different perspective
to the one offered in the base groups.
Workshops: tutors
are asked to provide practical workshops and lectures on different
themes that might be interesting to the participants, such as copyright,
staging etc.
Forums: chaired
panel discussions in which several key speakers talk on a chosen
topic.
INTERPLAY
Europe 2002 - Pecs
The principles
and the structure does not change: two participants and two tutors
are expected to take part from all over Europe. Besides discussions
in base groups, meeting the tutors in one-to-one sessions, the participants
will have a chance to explore the natural beauty of the region and
the rich multicultural life of the city.
Pecs lies in
the southernmost corner of Pannonia - i. E. West from the Danube
-, two hundred kilometers far from Budapest, close to the Croatian
border. Surrounded by hills, its climate is almost Mediterranean.
The region is famous for its historical Old Town, where you will
find beautiful remains of Roman and Turkish conquest and the thousand
year long Christian past. A University, a great number of high schools,
museums, cultural events and several theatres - among them an ethnic
Croatian Theatre and the Janus University Theatre which will serve
as the basis of the festival - make it a lively, exciting centre
of the region.
